Kick in the stomach

It is always hard to hear when friends are pregnant. Out of my group of 5 close girlfriends 1 had a baby last Jan, 1 is due in March, and one just annouced she was pregnant. I sent an e-mail on a "good day" I was having to ask how her Dr. appointment whent hoping she would e-mail back right away and tell me short and sweet. Well, it took 5 days for her to e-mail me back and that came yesterday. I wasn't having a particularily bad day, but I wasn't prepared for what I was about to read as I was leaving school - she is having twins.

Sometimes out of no where I feel these kicks in the stomach.

I am off to in-law land to celebrate J.'s mom's 60th birthday. Wish me luck!

  2. I felt the same way when my younger sister told me she was pregnant after only trying for six months.

Infertility is nothing if not unfair.

    Hope you feel better tomorrow.

    Happy ICLW!

  3. I completely agree..I received an email that was just a simple sentence that took my breath away and left me reeling. I think it will be hard, even after I have kids, to hear about others getting PG easily (I know it sounds crazy.) So, I don't think your alone in struggling with this. Also, I heart the infertility registry. And thank you SO much for the comment on my blog!

  4. You are definitely not alone in this. Sometimes I can take it ok, and sometimes it's like the rug was pulled out from under me. I hope you have a good day very soon. (ICLW)

  5. I know those kicks in the stomach. My friend (who also used donor sperm) just found out that the twins she is pregnant with are a boy and girl. When I read that, I just about lost it. I'm happy for her, but I want so bad to have a boy and a girl of my own.

    Hang in there. *hugs*

  7. I am so sorry that you had to read that in an email. It really sucks. But, as the others said, you are not alone!! We all understand what its like to be kicked in the stomach. I don't think that that will ever go away. One of my friends is due in March and I can't really bear to see her in person. My cousin who is 21 and not married is due in July (and can't understand why I am upset) and her brother got a second girl pregant and doesn't pay child support for the first. It really is an unfair world. But, keep your eye on the prize and it will be okay. Just keep some alcohol on hand as well!!! :0)

  8. Wow. You kind of get yourself ready for the pregos to pop up in your life, and for their baby - single - to come. But twins..that is always a shock.

    BIG ((hugs)) iclw
